Rachel Torgersen

Administrator

MA, Education, Kent State University
BA, Arts, Mount Union University

Mrs. Torgersen joined the AFCA faculty in 2020.

At Alliance Friends Christian Academy, Mrs. Torgersen runs the school, helps to shepherd the kids in their walk with the Lord, ensures that the school meets legal requirements, teaches in the learning center, and helps prepare the students for their future.

Her favorite part about being a faculty member at AFCA is “advancing students’ performance, God-given abilities, and well-being by empowering them with knowledge, compassion, problem-solving skills, and The Truth.  I am driven by God’s command to, “Love God and Love People” from Mark 12:28-31 as I work to help prepare the next generation of Christian leaders.”

In her free time Mrs. Torgersen enjoys spending time with her family; her husband Marc and their three boys, Ethan, Luke, and Ben, reading, walking, swimming, painting, and fellowshipping with friends!

BA, Peace and Conflict Studies  with a double minor in Special Education mild to moderate, and Music education, Kent State University

Ms. Buckholdt joined the AFCA faculty in January 2024, a few months after finishing her college career at Kent State University. There she was an active member of H2O Church, leading Bible studies, discipling women, and planning events.

At Alliance Friends Christian Academy, Ms. Buckholdt helps organize events, score student work, and assist students with 1 on 1 help. Her favorite part about being a faculty member at AFCA is “getting to help students have their a-ha moments, and learn deeper who they are as a daughter/son of Jesus.”

Ms. Buckholdt is currently a part time employee, and works for a college ministry for her other part time job! She enjoys going on hikes, trying new coffee shops, and watching hockey games in her free time.
